Tohu’s Chief Winemaker is Bruce Taylor; his passion for traditional winemaking methods is truly inspiring, so it’s no surprise to us that he won the title of New Zealand's Winemaker of the Year at the Royal Easter Show Awards.

Tohu’s Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir
We’ve chosen to include two of Tohu’s Manaaki range of wines in our Deluxe Hamper – the Awaterre Valley Sauvignon Blanc and Awaterre Valley Pinot Noir. They’re the perfect companions to a bottle of the finest Bollinger.
The Sauvignon Blanc is from the popular Marlborough region. A luminous pale green colour, with aromas of tropical fruit, currant-leaf and herbal notes. On the palate, you’ll get ripe pineapple, pink grapefruit and citrus zest - a crisp, fresh-tasting wine, with an extra vibrancy that leaves you wanting more.
The Pinot Noir offers the perfect contrast to the pure taste of the Sauvignon Blanc. Offering delightfully rich flavours, with a long, elegant finish, the wine has a warming bright ruby hue, with aromatic layers of red fruit, spicy florals and hints of crushed herbs. We recommend taking time to let the flavours soak it in. The first sip will be packed full of bright cherry and red berries, finely integrated with French oak. It is a balanced mid-weight red, with refined silky tannins.
