Reinstating tradition
Maidstone Distillery have an important mission. It is reinstating the tradition of Maidstone pioneer and master distiller, George Bishop, who created world-renowned spirits from the town back in 1785.
Now in the 2020s, they are reclaiming a forgotten heritage to produce spirits of quality, depth, meaning and character that the town can be proud of.
As well as drawing on their history, Maidstone Distillery is also focussing on protecting the future. Their fully renovated distillery runs on 100% green energy. They use plastic-free packaging for their products and they have also forged a fantastic partnership with UK conservation charity, Plant Life, who are committed to working to secure a 'world rich in wild plants and fungi'.
