Cole's Puddings are a long-established specialist pudding manufacturer, based in Essex. They use use the finest ingredients from all over the world to ensure the best quality throughout all of their products.
They are a very special producer for us during the festive season, with many of their incredible Christmas Puddings featuring in our Christmas Hampers.
A great grandmother's special recipes
Established in 1939, founder, Albert J. Cole, used his Great Grandmother’s book of recipes to create a range of puddings and cakes. He baked in small batches for local customers.
Fifty years later, Albert’s son, Chris, expanded the business into Cole’s Traditional Foods and moved to a custom-built craft bakery in the village of Great Chesterford. There it remained until 2010, when Cole’s became part of the Wilkin & Sons Ltd family of businesses.
Today, they offer an extensive range of high quality Christmas puddings, steamed puddings and festive treats.
The finest fruity and delicious ingredients
Even though Cole's has grown, they do not 'mass produce'. They continue to use a small batch delivery system. There recipes are still hand mixed and the puddings are baked for up to eight hours, whilst being gently steamed to ensure moistness and freshness.
Cole's Puddings only uses the finest ingredients, classic recipes and traditional method. It's the care and attention provided by their skilled team that makes the difference - offering the home-made taste that we all love.
They really do go the extra mile with their ingredients, including baking their own bread to make breadcrumbs for the pudding mixes. The Christmas puddings are also free from artificial colours and flavours and are suitable for vegetarians. There are even some specialist puddings, suitable for vegans.
In addition, the vegetable suet used contains responsibly-sourced sustainable palm oil and where possible their packaging is fully recyclable.
